The Palazzo Bidasio Zoppas Restoration

Five Centuries of prestige

Historic research conducted before starting the work has confirmed that the Palazzo Bidasio Zoppas was erected before 1522.
Always considered one of the most prestigious private mansions in the city, the building had different owners over the centuries: the original occupants were the Graziani family, followed by the Dalla Balla in 1753.
The Bidasios took over in 1820 and they passed the property on to the Zoppas family only in the mid-twentieth century. A few restorations were performed during the centuries, until the major restoration of 1955, which gave the structure its present appearance.

Restoration for a vibrant, modern future

The building’s main façade looks out onto Via XX Settembre, while its southern front, with garden, faces Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Dottor Group’s work on the Palazzo Bidasio Zoppas involved artistic and architectural restorations aimed at repairing the entire structure and converting the original space into ten prestigious residences equipped with the highest standards of comfort and security. The entire structure was revised; the structural and architectural characteristics of the building were preserved through consolidation and restoration of the characteristic and artistic elements of the main body.
A new basement garage was created on Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Each garage bay is composed of two vertical parking spaces possible thanks to a mechanical system.
Apartments 5, 7 and 9 are the last three units still available in this 10 unit building.

The ancient splendour of its frescos

Noteworthy restoration work was performed on the frescos of the Via XX Settembre façade and on the marmorino plaster decors of the first floor halls.
The frescoed plaster dates back to two consecutive decorative periods, one in the late fifteenth century and one in the early sixteenth century. Restoration work on the façade involved a thorough reinforcement by injection and recovering the décor's’ original beauty.
The end result, which can be finally seen by everyone, was a full recovery of the decor and the brilliance of the colours, which restored the frescoed façades to their ancient splendour.
Filling the holes with stucco and repairing the images through some pictorial touch-ups have made it possible to really enjoy the figurative and chromatic beauty of the wall.
